Belatedly realized that I only used screenshots of Pete in the Redesigned Tools developer diary, so here’s a couple of Claire down on the farm too!
How you shape The Lost Valley is entirely up to you! Break it down, build it up, or leave it exactly the way it is — it’s your choice!
Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley is coming to North America and Europe exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS!
Here’s how Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley appears in the Natsume E3 brochure! :)
Lookin’ good! I guess the “Three Dimensional” aspect is that we can now travel up and down in a more meaningful way than being restricted to a path. Interesting…
The new character designs look pretty nice too!
Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley for 3DS is the latest game in Natsume’s long-running fan-favorite series. Hiking your way through the mountains one day, you become caught in an unexpected snowstorm, and find shelter with the help of a faint voice. When you awaken, you find and help a kindly…
Shortly after CeeCee revealed The Lost Valley, Natsume’s official page issued a public press release that you can read at the link above. It touts the new game as being the first completely 3D Harvest Moon (What’s this supposed to mean…? So many 3D HMs already), boasting even more customization possibilities to your farm, and that it will harken back to the series roots while innovating in completely new ways.
That’s a heckuva lot to assume with so little concrete info. With no existing/Japanese game to attribute these features to due to Story of Seasons’ current status, I’m going to caution a guess that this is a totally new title that’s been in development internally. Hmm… hopefully we’ll get our first really good look at E3, which is only seven days away! There’s still a lot of interesting questions to this though. Like, is Wada involved in any way? What’s so special about the innovations? So many mysterious things going on with the series lately.
Make your own conclusions with the press release link above!
Neat! DYKG did a pretty good run-down of some of the back-story of some of the early HM development and some of the well-known bugs and Easter Eggs.
Maybe we should do a week about stuff like that some time…
One of my favorite things about Harvest Moon 64 was the festivals. Anna always had somethin’ special to say before they happened to give you a little frame of reference for why the village does it every year.
"At the Firefly Festival we send off our ancestor’s souls after they have come back to see us. The glimmering "fireflies" sent out on the ocean are very beautiful."
